I was born in Sicily, one of the most enchanting places in the world (one of 17 coolest places on the planet, according to National Geographic!) Endless sunshine, blue seas, the scent of jasmine in the air, fruit-laden orange trees lining country roads and buildings that have witnessed thousands of years of history. A land where your senses are overwhelmed by the variety of colours, scents, sounds, textures and flavours.
I left Sicily at a very young age. But Sicily has always stayed in my heart throughout the various journeys across the world. D.H. Laurence has once said about Sicily: “..And anyone who has once known this land can never be quite free from the nostalgia for it.”
A few years ago I arrived in Ireland and fell in love with it.. its majestic coastline, the stunning beauty of its emerald fields, ever-changing blue sea and endless stretches of sand. I have been living here since.
My Mission
Despite a successful career in the corporate world, I never stopped pursuing my passion for health and fitness, body movement and well-being. Coaching people about achieving a healthy and fulfilling life has been my passion since 2010.
I am a certified and experienced Wellbeing & Fitness, Nutrition and Life Coach (see below for details of my qualifications). My mission is to inspire and empower people of all ages and backgrounds to transform their life through simple and sustainable changes (evolution rather than revolution!). I guide people through the rewarding journey of becoming leaders of their own life. I regularly facilitate Wellbeing workshops and run events in Ireland and abroad.
As a dance and body movement teacher, I have repeatedly witnessed how dance can positively transform people's life.
The study of body movement has also brought me to learn about Yoga and Pilates, two very effective and easy tools to stay healthy in the body and mind. I now teach Yoga and Pilates both as self-standing disciplines and also as part of body conditioning sessions for dancers. I love teaching and sharing my knowledge to empower people. I teach with precision and sense of humor and strive to give individual attention to all participants in the class.
And about my interest in food.. Sicilians are well known for their love of food! Food is an essential element of every Sicilian's life. Its colours and flavours bring joy to our everyday life.
Studying the science of food (I am a qualified Nutrition Advisor) allowed me to understand its effects on our physical body. But I also realized there is more to food than just proteins, carbs and fats! Food and the way we eat it has a deep emotional effect on us. That is why a healthy eating plan should be nutritionally and 'emotionally' balanced.
Of all the many Sicilian things that I have brought with me, perhaps the most obvious is the love and appreciation for simple things. The most fulfilling things in life are the ones that are within easy reach but we often overlook. I encourage my clients and participants to my sessions to re-discover these simple things and learn to love them.
In my blog, I share thoughts and ideas for the mind, the body and the soul. I hope you enjoy reading them.
